What’s Your Plan?

July 26, 2023

Dear Reader,

Every thought in your mind has a possibility to become a reality. Sometimes the thought to create an experience comes from our own mind, but sometimes, thoughts to create something in our life comes from others, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

My love for Hawaii began in this way when a friend suggested to me back in 2017, "you should go to Hawaii and stay with my sisters. The island will help you heal." At first, I didn't think I could go, or should go. I thought Hawaii was for lovers, or rich people. I was sick with Lyme disease and looking for ways to heal. But my friend convinced me that Hawaii would help me. And I'm so glad she used her persuasion skills for my benefit because I began planning. I began preparing for the trip by looking at flights and dates to leave. I considered what I needed to bring. And eventually, I took the initiative and booked my flight and I went! I had the time of my life! Hawaii DID help me heal and when I returned home that summer, my blood tests revealed my friend was accurate. The doctor said I was healthier than most twenty year olds. "What did you do?" the doctor asked me. "I followed the suggestions of my friend Denise. I went and stayed the whole summer in Hawaii" I told her.

Sometimes our plans begin with a thought that others have shared with us… (like “hey, you should go to Hawaii”) and sometimes we make plans because our own thought led us to want to go someplace(After that, I fell in love with Hawaii and made five more trips there. I love Hawaii so I think I’ll start making another plan and look at how I’m going to get there again, when I’ll leave, and what I’ll do). Maybe.

Sometimes though, people make plans because they feel they have no other option, like when my life turned upside down after a diagnosis of Lyme disease.

It was the summer of 2013 when I got sick. By December, after two rounds of Docy, the Lyme specialist told me that I needed a PICC line IV and I would have to live with Lyme and the IV the rest of my life. I didn't want to live that way, so I started to make other plans. First, my thought was that I wanted to die, and I thought of how I could accomplish that, to take my life. I mean, I was in alot of pain and I refused to live with an IV the rest of my life. I was giving up hope. My thoughts were, "how can I end this suffering? What was my plan? What can I do?"

Oftentimes, when someone is told “we’ve done all we could", a natural response is that life is over for us.

Even worse is when a person is told, "Maybe it’s time to get your things in order for end of life.”

When you make a plan in your mind and begin to take action on that plan, the result is soon to come.

What I've come to learn over the past 10+ years of my life is that ultimately, my life is my choice. With my own free will, I determine where I will go. The power of suggestion, whether intentionally or not, effects many people. Our minds are like sponges. But I no longer allow the power of suggestion to effect me. My plans... are my choice. My life... my choice.

Family and good friends who have good intentions can still plant seeds of limiting beliefs. The power of suggestion by my friend Denise, who had strong POSITIVE beliefs, assisted me in a good way. I made a good plan. The doctor who told me I had to live with an IV though, the power of suggestion was not helpful or hopeful.

With each thought, we can believe in a good outcome or not so goid. We can make plans that lead to happiness d good health... or give up and plan for a less fortunate outcome.

What plans are you making? What thoughts are you thinking? What suggestion was made to you?

Why not set a new goal today that leads you to a successful, happy, healthy outcome? What plan can you make to achieve that? If you have people who are doubtful or negative in their thinking, are you going to let them determine your result??

Somewhere it is written, "For I know the plans I have made for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you." Jeremiah 29:11

If plans were made to help us prosper, to be happy and healthy, why do we believe someone who tells us differently? Do you really want to believe in a negative outcome??

Plans were made to prosper you, NOT harm you!! Are you ready to jump in on THOSE plans?? Good things are coming!!!

Until next time,

make a GREAT PLAN!!!

With love,

Gail lynn
