Spiritual Healing

March 18th, 2024

Dear Reader,

We all have the ability to learn and practice spiritual healing. We all can HEAL ourself, IF that is what we choose to learn and do. And it's not just a skill for a "healer". The great healer Jesus himself said to his 12 followers, "Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of Samaritans. Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. As you go, proclaim this message: "The kingdom of heaven has come near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."

Now, I don't ascribe to any one religious group's teachings, but reading the Bible and learning about Spiritualism, spiritual healing, Buddhism, Hinduism, and God over the past decade or two has brought much experience and wisdom when it concerns healing. Since my first class in spiritual healing back in 2011, I have studied with and under numerous teachers, healers, organizations, and cultures. I have studied with spiritual healers, shamans, kahuna, and scientists. I have learned and practiced techniques from the "spiritual" realm and have found that many scientists today are studying AND APPLYING these techniques. Many scientists are TEACHING the techniques and using different language. AND they have made a difference in the lives of many many people. There are numerous similarities among the different "techniques" used in spiritual healing, and they all lead to the same result... being healed. It's kind of like, do you take aspirin or one of the many other name brands to treat a headache. They all do the same thing AND you get to choose! Which one do YOU "believe" is best?

My introduction to spiritual healing came in a spiritual community (Lily Dale) in 2011 and it came after a difficult heartbreak. Little did I know at the time, I was led to Lily Dale because I was "heartsick". (Did you know people actually die from being heartsick, after the loss of a loved one?) Well, that heartache I was experiencing lingered for years leading me into and through much sickness. In 2013 it brought on Lyme disease, another catastrophe from being heartsick. After a few years of driving back and forth to this spiritual community for church, meditation, classes, healing, and summer volunteer events, I decided I wanted to be a greater part of the community. My "spirit" needed people in my life. My grown kids were busy with their life and I was on a path of healing ~ trying to find solutions to my "sickness" (Lyme disease).

After several years of ups and downs with Lyme disease and MORE sickness (a mini-stroke in 2015 and chronic anemia requiring blood transfusions in 2016), I finally purchased a house in the spiritual community of Lily Dale. It was the perfect combination of synchronicity that made me feel like it was the perfect thing for me to do. I was quietly struggling. Continuing to volunteer when I felt well enough, resting when I was too weak to carry on, I thought being in a spiritual community was the perfect place for me to be. In 2017 though, still heartsick still struggling with Lyme, a friend recommended I go to Hawaii. "Hawaii heals everyone", she said. I was over-stressed in my job and what's more, my heart AND my thoughts were often whispering, "give up." Now, don't get me wrong, on my "good days" I was still working as a school teacher, taking classes, and serving as a spiritual healer in the church. That's the funny thing about a Lyme diagnosis - the mystery illness - you have days where you feel "normal" and then days where you are on your deathbed. WHY? - well... that's for you and anyone interested in learning more about how life works, to find out. Like Glenda tells Dorothy at the end of her journey to the Emerald City, you wouldn't believe me. You have to figure it out for yourself.

Today, I look back and see my life's journey, the heroine's journey, (the hero's journey as Joseph Campbell called it), is a spiritual journey. It's a path we all are on to awaken the parts within us to a new way of thinking and being.... or depending on how you look at it, it's an OLD way of thinking, a VERY old way way of thinking and being.

For starters, the practice of spiritual healing, IS itself an OLD practice, and old way of living and being. I mean, Jesus taught this ... or so it says in the scripture. The nature of us humans, as "spirit" and about the process of healing the body, mind, and soul through modalities such as, "laying on of hands" or "distant healing". or though the mind is as OLD as time. And even though scientists today are using it and using different language to describe their "discoveries" of natural ways of healing with the mind, in meditation, through "energy" or thought or intention or hands on healing or spiritual healing or energy healing... THERE'S NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN - - history repeats itself.

Some things I've discovered (remembered) about spiritual healing, I don't need REIKI "symbols" to offer energy to people. I don't need my hands to share energy with people. I CAN use my thoughts, which is energy. I CAN use my spoken words, as in prayer, to share healing energy. Everything is energy.

Whether you use the word "God" or "Universe" or "Spirit" or "Life Force" or "Divine Intelligence" to refer to the great unseen power that we ALL can connect with, it is THIS force that we utilize and connect with when we ask for healing to help heal ourself or others. When you say, "God help me"... that is a prayer and requst for spiritual healing. When you think of a loved one and THINK, "Dear Universe, help my brother", that is a prayer and request for spiritual healing. When acting as a spiritual healer in my community where people come and sit on a bench for spiritual healing, and I place my hands on their shoulders or head or arms and pray/think, "Divine Intelligence, thank you for helping this person in their need for their highest and best good", this is spiritual healing. If the person you are praying for (with intention for a divine intervention) is absent from your presence, is in another home/state/etc, then we can refer to it as "Absent Healing" or "Distant Healing" and the only time that distant/absent healing is acceptable to do is when the receiver has requested or given permission for the healing of their spirit, their heart and mind, which ultimately effects the healing of the body, for the body is effected by the mind and heart.

By bringing enLIGHTenment to the mind, by affirming positive intentions, one also can incorporate the Law of Attraction and the concept of "like attracts like" when we speak positively and reinforce suggestions of wellness. "Every day in every way, I am getting better and better." When one understands the work of Masaru Emoto and water consciousness, it's much easier to understand the power of our spoken word as well as our thought on our ability to heal ourself.

Can we heal ourself of any and ALL sickness? Well, again, as ancient teacher Jesus said, It is done unto you as you believe. In the Bible in the book of Matthew 8, depending on which version you use and depending on your belief or FAITH, "GO thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee."

The word "thee" at the end, is significant. If YOU believe you can heal, but your spouse doesn't or your child doesn't or your parent doesn't or your present day doctor doesn't ... who are you going to believe?? Your "self" ... a divine statement from scripture saying you CAN heal...

OR...

a disbeliever, a non-believer?

You have free will... and if you align YOUR will with DIVINE WILL... the will of GOD... the will of the Creator... with the will of a "DIVINE MIND"... what do you think could happen? Healing? Complete healing? Well... what do YOU believe? Why not take a chance and believe the impossible?? Why not believe in what you want so much that it has NO CHOICE but to materialize??? Could you?? How bad do you want to be healed? When I was sick with Lyme, I wanted to be healed SO MUCH.. I risked losing my job. I DID lose my job... BUT... I WAS HEALED!! Lyme disappeared!!

And I wish the same for you!

May your spirit be healed...if you so choose.

May your mind be kind. May your hope be plenty. May your strength be strengthened by the universal intelligence. I offer you love, peace, joy and the spirit of wellbeing.

Until next time reader,

I love you.
